Webcam? Is Joe Moving Off Island?

I've had a number of emails from the news letter I sent out the other day, I figure there's probably a lot more people wondering what's going to happen to our webcam after I sell this place.
The answer is: I'm not sure. It depends on who buys the property. If it's a business that could use the webcams exposure, then I think they may want to keep it.
On the other hand if a non business person buys the place, they may not be interested in the $135 monthly cost of maintaining the camera.
Another question that came up. Am I moving off the island? NO! A little history... I've be doing automotive suspension and brake work since I was 18 years old. Actually longer than that, but I've been employed in the business since 1979.
It was never my plan to be doing the "hands on" work at this stage of my life. My plan was by this time I'd have a crew doing all the day to day work and I'd just over see it. Great plan on paper. But that's not how it works in Hawaii, at least not in Kona.
It's not my passion anymore. It's time to do something else. The last couple of years I've been working on this website trying to figure out a new career path. I have. It's wedding webcasts. See: LiveKonaWedding
I've developed the skills necessary to make it a successful venture, I just need the time to devote to it. I don't have the time now because I'm down at the shop full time.
I've also been developing "how to" videos for the last 6 months that are geared towards auto mechanics and I think I can share my professional knowledge that I've gained over the last 28 years on a large scale by selling DVD's.
Most of us are modern slaves. We are bound by the chains of economic slavery. We have hopes and dreams that we think we are not allowed to pursue because we are afraid to fail thinking that we will be out on the street if in fact we do fail.
I refuse to be a slave. Carpe Diem... Seize the Day!
And if I do fail? At least it's warm sleeping outside here. Believe it or not, that was a comforting thought to me 12 years ago when I was planning my move to Hawaii and the unknown.
Chances are good that my next place will have a good view...for a webcam.
All the best,
Joe
P.S. I AM NOT QUITTING THIS WEBSITE, just autorepair AFTER my house sells!
