Meduse Yacht

That was the yacht that was here Christmas eve day.(2008) After blowing up a photo I could see what I thought was "Medust" it was actually "Meduse" on the side of the boat.

I Googled "Medust" and Google said "did you mean
Medusa?" then it became obvious who's yacht it was.

I read in a forum that it was for sale a couple years ago, guess he couldn't get the 52.5 million he was asking for.

I wonder if Paul ever checks out our webcam before he comes to Kona? Hey Paul if you're reading this wadaya say?

December 2009 Update

Since Christmas 2008 when the Meduse showed up here in Kailua Kona Hawaii people have reported her location through out the year from various locations world wide.

I imagine they Google her name and are led to this page because this website ranks high in the search engines for words related to the Meduse yacht.

During the past year she has been spotted in Bora Bora, San Diego Ca, Vancouver BC, Ketchikan and Juneau Alaska, Alameda Ca, San Jose del Cabo Mexico and as of this writing she's back in Kailua Kona Hawaii. (Dec. 09)

Yes, as of Jan 28, 2010, it's parked in the Harbor in Downtown Victoria, BC.

Amazing machine! a bunch of other yacht's I thought were quite nice yesterday, suddenly look minuscule next to this beast ;)

The helicopter is a very nice addition too!
I was curious if any information about it was out there, and was glad to see this hit come up, Makes sense that it would belong to someone like that!

What a sight to see including the Helicopter's incredible landing. I heard he will be in for the Holidays as his home is under a complete renovation. Perhaps our D.O.E should ask him for a Furlough School Donation or a Computer Center as he seems to like Kona as a part time resident.
I'm sure he pays his fair share of property taxes and is employing the largest amount of construction crews in Kona presently. Thank goodness for " Microsoft ".

The Meduse is anchored in the channel between our place and the cruise ship dock. I wonder if they can hear my opera singing wife, through our open windows, rehearsing for her upcoming Texas debut. Just in case I'll ask her to skip anything she might know from Flotow's opera "Le naufrage de la Méduse" (wreck of the Meduse).

Meduse in Juneau

The Meduse is in Juneau, Alaska for the past week or so, moored not at Merchant's Wharf, but at the Seadrome docks. Strong, creditable rumor has it that (Big) Dick Cheney visited aboard the yacht on Tuesday night. We watched the heli take off and leave. It later returned and landed on the yacht in some pretty nasty foul weather.

Don't know if Darth Vadar was onboard or not - but early the next morning we did see a largish private jet parked way off to the side at the Juneau airport. That's not unusual for this place though.

Probably Darth was traveling thru to hook up with Sarah Palin someplace.

My bad. The Meduse is not back in North Vancouver. The Attessa, owned by Dennis Washington, is here. The fact that they both have helicopters threw me off. This one is big and gorgeous as well. Sorry for the goof.

When the Meduse showed up here in Kona it had the helicopter on the deck, so I'd say it takes it where ever it goes.

And, the night it was here, the helicopter took off and flew in a big circle off the coast and landed back on the yacht a half dozen times. Probably taking friends for rides is what it looked like.

She is still elegantly docked next to the Star of India today, Feb 14th. If you look at the nearby point-of-interest map of the harbor, the Meduse is shown right along with the Berklely and the Star of India. Though she may take sail on occasion, does that mean her home port is San Diego?

Some years ago, I saw the Medusa from the deck of a San Juan Island ferry. At first I just saw the bow, and as it came into view from behind one of the islands, I saw more and more of the superstructure until the whole boat was visible. The last part of the boat to materialize was the helicopter deck. It was an awesome sight!
