Having recently returned from Midway Atoll where many Monk Seal's were resting on the beaches and swimming around, I would like to continue to make others aware of the continued decline of the population of Hawaiian Monk seals.
At present it is at a rate of 4% per year from a variety of factors one of them being entanglement in marine debris. A percentage of my profits from art about Monk Seal's benefits the Marine Mammal Response Team on the Big Island which helps to educate the public and does the annual Monk Seal count. Midway was an awesome wildlife experience with millions of birds there that have no fear of humans so that one could very close to them to view them and photograph them. Laysan Albatross, red-tailed tropic birds, white terns were definitely up close and personal and the sea so many colors of turquoise that the clouds reflect green.
