Manta Ray Night Dive

About 8 years ago I did the Manta Ray Night Dive off the old Kona Surf Hotel. My dive partner and I entered the water next to the hotel and then snorkeled out behind the resort where the lights shine and then we dropped down about 20 feet to the bottom and waited for the Mantas to show up.

There were a lot of other divers who showed up from local dive tour boats and it was almost like waiting for the movie to start on the bottom as divers dropped down to the bottom and waited for the big Mantas to appear.

About 8 Huge Mantas showed up almost on cue. They swam in a circular motion just above our heads for what seemed like a long time. Probably about 20 minutes. Definitely the best dive experience I've ever had.
