Kona's Best Beaches

by Joe
(Kailua Kona )

Kekaha Kai Beach

Kekaha Kai State Park is located between mile marker 90 and 91 north of Kona International airport on Hwy 19.

I like this beach because of the shade trees, sandy bottom, easy access from the highway.

We went there a few weeks ago and it was nice, not too crowded. We got there around 10AM and stayed until about 2PM when it was starting to get busy. Not crowded but not quiet either.

Magic Sands

On Alii Dr. about 10 minutes south of the Kailua Pier is Magic Sands Beach. A nice little beach close to town. Becareful of the shore break when the surfs up.
