Kamakahonu Beach at the King Kamehameha Hotel

Kamakahonu Beach

Kamakahonu Beach fronts the King Kamehameha Hotel. This is the only hotel in the vicinity that has its own beach.

King Kamehameha the Great's home was adjacent to this beach. Ahu'ena Heiau is also the photo. It was constructed hundreds of years ago according to what I've read about it.

The above sign shows all the different activities available at the beach. This sign is right next to small shack there on the beach where you would inquire about said activities.

I wish I had read the sign a little better when I took the photo, I'd sure like to know what the deal is about "Hawaiian Antiquities", not something I would expect to see at the beach.

This is a nice protected little beach. It's perfect if you have small keiki. (kids.)

There is not a life guard so you have to keep a good eye on the little ones.

Last but not least if you're a scuba diver just out past the Heiau and to the right is a nice reef with lots of sea life.

Another good shore dive location
