Hurricane's and such

by Sharon
(Athens, GA)

Many years ago, when life was fun and carefree, I lived in Christianstead on St. Croix in the Caribbean. I absolutely loved it. I worked from 9am to 2pm then sunned and swam and snorkled till 9pm then worked again till 2am. Ahh! what a life. That was until hurricane's David and Fredrick tore through one right after the other and completely devoured the Dominican Republic and took out a good deal of St. Croix as well. So my question is: When was your last hurricane on the Big Island? How badly did it effect Kailua Kona area?
