Hawaiian CruisesThere are plenty of Hawaiian cruises but nothing like the hey day of 2005 or 2006. Back then it seemed like every morning I looked out the window and saw a different cruise ship. Our Hawaii honeymoon cruise has photos of some of the ships that have come to Kona. My favorite was the Queen Mary 2. What a magnificent piece of human engineering she is. At the time she was the only ship afloat that had a Planetarium onboard. The day she was here another ship called "The World" was here too. The Queen Mary 2 dwarfed The World like it was a toy. Amazing Queen Mary 2 Photo Also during that time period there were 3 ships doing inter island cruises that were ported in Honolulu. No more. Now there's only one, The Pride Of America or is it the Pride of Aloha? Next Wednesday I'll look out the window and come back and fix this. You can see for yourself on our webcam. I've programmed it to the ship coordinates. Just click the drop down button on the webcam viewer and presto instant cruise ship on the screen. Only on Wednesday. Other ships that come to Kona don't always park there. Sometimes they park straight out front. Ships that are coming to Kona this year: The Carnival Spirit is scheduled to visit Hawaii this year. She's coming from Mexico in the fall. The Golden Princess will be here in April. She's coming from L.A. via Mexico for a 14 day trip. I look forward to seeing this ship. She's never been here before. The Rhapsody Of The Seas will also be here in April. Departing out of Honolulu for a 10 trip around the islands and then over to Vancouver. She's been to Kona many many times. The Carnival Spirit, the Royal Princess and the Zaandam are all scheduled this year. As you can see, there are quite a few choices for Hawaiian cruises.
