Dell and SalesForce.com

by Joe
(Kona )

Both Dell computer company and Salesforce.com funded the new computer lab at one of our local high schools.

SalesForce.com and Dell each put up $100,000 to buy both desk top and laptop computers for the school.

There was a big write up about it in our local news paper westhawaiitoday.com

CEO's of both Dell and SalesForce.com have homes here on the big island. It's nice to see them step up when needed.

This is not the first time SalesForce.com has responded when the community needed help. In 2006 after the earth quake here, the CEO of Salesforce.com put up about $650,000 to help repair our local hospital.

If my business had a need for what Salesforce.com was offering, I'd be the first to line up to support them. Check them out, maybe they offer services your business could use.

I already own 2 Dell computers and the next time I need another, it will be a Dell.

Mahalo for your support of our children on this island.

Computer donation
by: Sharon M

I hadn't heard about this. That was a wonderful thing for them to do. I raised my son, Mark, in Kona and was heavily involved in the PTO/PTA's doing fundraising for his schools which supported much needed supplies and materials for everyday teaching tools. Unfortunately never enough money to purchase high-teck things. Both of these companies have provided Kona kids with such opportunity. Mark, my son, was fortunate and graduated college with a BA in Multi-Media Technology from UAT in Tempe, Arizona. He had this opportunity because the "new" Kealakehe High School had just opened the year before he went to High School. They offered some, not much, but some computer related courses...enough to open his door to the world. Now other kids will have more opportunity. God bless them.
