What is the Big Island 5 Day Tour? It's a realistic itinerary for someone visiting the big island. I spent 4 months shooting some of the most exotic and tropical locations on the island for the footage of this DVD. By watching this DVD you can see some of the most highly touted sites on the island of Hawaii. If you follow the itinerary you could see the same locations in the same amount of time if you came to visit the big island. Day 1 shows the main drag of Kailua Kona and then I show you Place of Refuge which is one of the most beautiful and tranquil spots on the island. The DVD tells you when the best time to visit is.
Day 2 Is a day at the beach... at Honokohau National Park. The beach here is one of the best kept secrets on the island. The DVD gives you the inside tip on where to enter and how and when to see Dolphins.
Day 3 we travel up to Pololu Valley Lookout. You'll get a glimpse of Hawi town and Kappau, as we drive through them you'll see what looks like Hawaii frozen in time. Then we'll arrive at the Pololu Valley lookout. Unbelievable view.
Day 4 is Volcanoes National Park. If you go nowhere else on your vacation, come here. You can spend an entire week in this one area of the island alone if you wanted. The footage of the lava blasting in the air we caught the day we were there is simply awe inspiring. Mother nature at her finest. Truly one of the great wonders of the world. Day 5 is Hilo Botanical Garden and Akaka Falls. If you're into the flowers of Hawaii and other things green that grow here, the Hilo Botanical Garden is worth the trip to the other side of the island. There are thousands of the most beautiful plants, flowers and trees located there on the grounds. Some of the most beautiful footage of the whole DVD was shot here. Then we finish off with a short tour through Akaka Falls on the way back to Kona. A must see 1000ft. + water fall.
