" The best Hawaiian Art is created all over the big island"
Some of the best Hawaiian art in Kona is created by my friend Marshall White who is probably the hardest working artist in town. Marshall has a kiosk in the village where he sells some of the best Hawaiian art available. On cruise ship days, Marshall works about 14 hours each day.
A little background Marshall moved to Kona sometime around 2001. Unlike some of the wealthy folks that relocate to the big island, I don't think Marshall was rolling in dough when he got here. He used to bring me his car to fix the brakes, and let’s just say it was what we used to call a "Kona cruiser". That means basically one foot in and one foot out of the junkyard. What's a street artist?Over the years Marshall would set up an easel on the sidewalk in front of different local businesses and paint. This was good for both him and the business. He would sell his paintings and prints, the business would get more foot traffic and they would sell more of their own products. It's funny how things workA couple of years ago our Golden Retriever "Bob" died suddenly and we ran an ad in the paper letting people know about it. This dog used to have people come to the shop just to visit him. Seriously. So what does this have to do with the best Hawaiian art? Marshall had read the ad in the paper and misunderstood, he thought that I had died! Poor old Trent he's thinking. (Or at least I hope.) So now fast forward a couple of years. I'm building this website and I'd like to showcase a local artists work that I know, and whose work I like. I think of Marshall and around that time I read an ad in the paper that say's he has moved to a new location at the Kona Inn. Turns out I'm not dead after allSo I go down there to see Marshall and he seemed pretty surprised to see me! He told me how he read the thing in the paper and he thought that was me and we had a good laugh. I told him I thought he had become a successful rich artist and now was driving a new car every year, so therefore had no need for my services. He's not rich But he is driving a better car these days. I got a look at it the other day when he dropped off 20 prints of some of the best Hawaiian art available. His art is too good to not let people know about it. I'm going to start selling some of the best Hawaiian art in 16x20 prints here on Konafriends. What are they? Marshall's best Hawaiian art paper prints are made from digital reproductions of his original oil paintings. Now a standard process in the art reproduction industry. They are printed on a high quality digital printer using archival inks. The size listed is the matted size. Each print is matted in a bright white mat board and can be custom rematted to your liking at your local framer. 16x20 is a standard size to make framing easy and inexpensive. Each print has an information sheet on the back with: the title of the painting, date it was painted, what it is about or where, and artist biography and contact info. Then each Print is individually packaged to protect it. Limited Edition prints come with their own "Certificate of Authenticity" attached to the back of the print showing size, title and the number of the edition. On the back of every print are the artist's bio and a certificate of authenticity if it is a limited edition print. The Best Hawaiian Art Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity

If You Decide To Buy a PrintTake Care of your art paper prints by not placing them in direct sunlight and be sure you frame them in glass. Prolonged exposure to constant changes in temperature, humidity and direct sunlight will cause premature loss of color and life of the art paper print. Having them framed in glass gives them a UV protection and seals the best Hawaiian art from environmental exposure. The above limited editon prints are some of the best Hawaiian art available.
