Aloha Is Alive And Well In Kona

(Kailua Kona)

Steve's Sign

Steve's Sign

John from Kona Kwik Lube called me today and asked if I could align a van for Steve Thomas. Steve's Metal Art

He said they just installed a rebuilt transmission from Vic over at Trans Tech and the alignment looked wonkey. He said he needed a favor, I cut him off, I already knew what he was going to say and I told him I'd do at no charge.

Me doing a free alignment is no big deal, the reason I'm telling you guys this is because John supplied the labor which is no small job and Vic rebuilt the transmission and they did it for free. Why?

Some of you know Steve and he's helped a lot of people over the years myself included, and he wouldn't accept any money. About a year and a half ago he fell about 12 feet and broke his neck and now is confined to a wheel chair and is practically a quad.

A lot of other people since then have gave a helping hand, if I knew all of their names I'd publish them.

Once upon a time someone here told me there's no more aloha in Kona. They're wrong. Aloha is alive and well.

The next time your car needs some transmission work, go see Vic over at Trans Tech. An oil change, see John over at Kona Kwik Lube. Or, if you're bored and need somebody to talk to, maybe go meet Steve at the Keauhou Convalescent home.
