My husband and I visited Kona for the first time over New Years. I knew we were going to have a great time on the Big Island, but didn’t know we were going to enjoy it as much as we did. I can’t wait to go back! A few of our favorite places to dine while there were: 1. Splashers. The best of everything! Our first visit consisted of a salad and a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The best ever!! The next visit consisted of another Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and hamburger. The best hamburgers ever! They do need to work on their frozen Mai Thai recipe, but it was still very very good! 2. Jackie Rey’s. This place is a bit more on the expensive side ($24.00 for a plate of spaghetti with chicken and shrimp) but let me tell you it was worth every penny. And their Mai Thai’s rocked! 3. The Coffee Shack. It’s up the Queen K highway a bit, but the view is worth the drive! And the food isn’t bad either! Don’t forget to stop off at Kona Stories the new book store in Mango Court! It has a great atmosphere, great selection, and great people who own it! Thanks for letting me share a bit of our experience. Next time we are visiting we have some where to look for other great places to dine!
