About twice a year I get "rock" fever. Where to go? Well, I like going to the fair... and the fair in Hawaii is lacking to say the least. So I do some checking online and it's time for the California state fair. Great, we went a couple of years ago and it was a lot of fun.

What really made it worth going this year was the weeny dog races. 64 Wiener dogs racing for the Dachshund Derby Championship - 8 heats of 8 dogs. Ok that settles it, we're going to the Wiener dog races!

I've been telling friends we're going to the weeny dog races in California since early August and I'm sure they think I definitely need a rest. LOL

Was it worth it? You bet. Riveting I'm tell'n ya. No really. I never knew a weeny dog could run so fast! It came down to a photo finish between Fast Frank from El Dorado Hills and some dog I can't remember the name of. The race was held at the horse racing track at the California State Fairgrounds in Sacramento, so they really did have a photo finish that took the judges reviewing the film 3 times to make a decision. There was 500 bucks at stake!

• Loves to race
• Placed 2nd in 2006 race

And last but not least, Fast Frank's hobbies include: chasing laser lights, lizards and snuggling.
