No Whales Today (Sunday)

Last Sunday was the largest one day turnout of Humpback whales I've ever seen in the last ten years. Today? Zero, zilch, nada.

I guess they all went to Maui for the weekend. LOL. So between the superbowl and no whales, the webcam pretty much stayed on auto pilot today. If you see the cam moving that means I've found something interesting to look at. Or at least I think so.

Until the new controls are built, I program it every morning to a handful of the most interesting things going on around here. Last week there were a couple of days that were so clear I had the cam pointed south and you could see the slope of Mauna Loa going into the sea. Most of the time you can't see Mauna Loa because of the vog.

Waterman Boat Is Back

It's back...In January 2006 the "Rapture" showed up out front of our home. I blogged about; read the details here at the story about the Waterman Academy. You can also see it on the webcam today, it's the black and white boat. I don't know how long it's stay will be but my guess is a week.

Whales and Dolphins Today

It's just after lunch, I've been tracking 5 whales cruising by on the surface. Then to top it off a bunch of spinner dolphins have been breaching out in front of our house. What a great day. So if you see the cam move and then all of the sudden stop, I've probably just seen a whale or dolphin and I'm waiting for it to surface.
